Do I need a School Bus endorsement to drive a school bus?+
Yes. Any CDL driver operating a vehicle defined as a school bus under FMCSA § 383.5 must hold a valid School Bus (S) endorsement. If you are adding this endorsement for the first time after February 7, 2022, ELDT theory training is required before the state knowledge test.
Do I need a Passenger endorsement too?+
In most states, yes — school bus drivers must hold both the School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements. Get both ELDT theory courses together with the
