DAT Load Board Cost 2026
Every Plan, Priced.
All five carrier tiers with real 2026 numbers, which one you actually need, and 10% off your first 12 months through our partner link.
DAT One carrier plans run $59 to $339 a month in 2026. Standard is $59, Enhanced $149, Pro $169, Select $259, Office $339. Pro is DAT's most popular carrier plan and where most one-to-three truck operators land. Running a box truck or sprinter? Standard at $59 is the plan DAT built for you. Our partner link takes 10% off your first 12 months — $53.10 on Standard, $152.10 on Pro.
DAT is the most expensive load board in trucking and the one most experienced owner-operators end up running anyway. Both things are true. At the tier that includes lane rate data, the negotiating edge usually costs less than one renegotiated load.
The confusing part is the tier structure. There are five carrier plans, a separate set of broker plans at completely different prices, and most articles online still quote tier names DAT retired — “Power Select,” “Pro Premium,” a $45 Express carrier plan. None of those exist in 2026. If a pricing article mentions them, it hasn't been updated in two years.
Here are the current numbers, straight from DAT's carrier pricing, with our partner discount shown beside each one.

If you run a box truck, don't buy the $169 plan
This is the single most expensive mistake we see. A new box truck operator reads a load board article, assumes they need the tier everyone recommends, and pays $169 a month for rate benchmarking on lanes they aren't running.
DAT built a plan for you specifically. Their own description of Standard: “Recommended for Owner-Operators Hauling Partial Loads (Box Trucks/Sprinter Vans).” $59, or $53.10 through our link.
You get 500 searches and truck posts a month, load counts by state so you can see which markets have outbound volume, and the mobile app. What you don't get is lane rate averages — and for partial-load and regional box truck freight, those benchmarks are built around full truckload lanes anyway.
Start on Standard. Upgrade when the rate data would actually change a decision you're making. That is usually when you move into full truckload freight, not before. Our box truck startup guide covers the rest of the launch budget.

The line that matters is Standard to Enhanced
Every tier above Standard includes lane rate averages. That is the real dividing line in DAT's pricing, and it's worth understanding before you pick.
Without rate data, every negotiation is blind. A broker offers $1,650 Memphis to Charlotte. Is that good? You have no idea. You take it because it covers fuel and leaves something over.
With rate data, you know the lane averaged $1,950 this week. You counter at $1,850, settle at $1,800, and you just made $150 you would otherwise have left on the table. Do that four times a month and the subscription has paid for itself twice.
The difference between Enhanced ($149) and Pro ($169) is narrower: Pro gives you 7-day rate averages instead of 15-day, a third search tab, the TriHaul routing tool, Canadian loads, preferred and blocked company lists, and DAT Assurance payment support when a broker goes past due.
Twenty dollars for fresher rate data and payment backup is an easy yes for most full-time operators — which is why Pro is DAT's most popular carrier plan.
The ROI math on Pro
Take Pro at $152.10 a month with the discount. Assume 30 loads a month averaging 900 miles — a normal pace for a full-time operator.
Six tenths of a cent per mile. If rate data helps you negotiate five cents a mile more — conservative, because the spread between a blind acceptance and a market-rate booking is usually wider than that — you're earning an extra $45 per 900-mile load, or about $1,350 a month.
That's roughly 9x the subscription. And it only needs to work on a fraction of your loads to stay positive.
The math is different for short-haul and box truck work, where each load is fewer miles but rate-per-mile variance is wider. That's the case for starting on Standard and moving up when your lanes justify it.

- Annual vs monthly. DAT lists monthly pricing. Ask whether annual billing is available and what it saves before you commit — and read the auto-renewal terms either way.
- Additional users. Select and Office are $169 per extra user on top of the base. If you're adding a dispatcher, that changes the math.
- Setup or activation fees. Ask directly whether any apply to your plan and whether they're waived for new sign-ups.
- Cancellation terms. Confirm the notice period in writing before you start, not when you want to leave.
- The cost of going too cheap. If you pick a plan without rate data and you're running full truckload freight, the loads you undercut yourself on don't show up on your DAT bill — they show up in your settlements.
Finding loads is only half the problem
You book the load, you run it, you deliver. Then you wait 30 to 60 days for the broker to pay.
That gap is what kills new authorities — not a shortage of freight. Fuel is due now, the truck payment is due now, and your money is sitting in someone's accounts payable queue.
Factoring closes it. You submit the paperwork, the factor pays you within a day, and they collect from the broker. DAT Outgo is the one we point graduates toward: it lives inside the same DAT login, there's no long-term contract, and they run a rate match guarantee against your current factor.

Is a cheaper load board better?
If $152 a month is genuinely outside your budget right now, the honest answer is usually DAT Standard at $53.10 rather than a different company's entry tier. You get the biggest load pool in the industry, and you can move up in one click when volume justifies it.
Truckstop and 123Loadboard are real options and cost less at entry tiers. The tradeoff is a smaller load pool and less rate depth. Our full comparison covers all of them side by side.
Amazon Relay is free and worth having open, but it only shows Amazon's own freight. It's a supplement, not a primary board.
DAT pricing questions, answered
How much does the DAT load board cost in 2026?
Carrier plans run $59 to $339 a month. Standard $59, Enhanced $149, Pro $169, Select $259, Office $339. Pro is the most popular carrier plan. Through our partner link those drop 10% for the first 12 months.
Which plan does a box truck owner-operator need?
Standard at $59 — $53.10 through our link. DAT recommends it specifically for owner-operators hauling partial loads in box trucks and sprinter vans. You do not need the $169 plan to run a box truck.
What's the difference between Standard, Enhanced and Pro?
Standard gives you load search and truck posting with load counts by state, but no rate data. Enhanced adds 15-day lane rate averages. Pro adds 7-day averages, TriHaul routing, preferred and blocked companies, Canadian loads, and DAT Assurance payment support. Rate data starts at Enhanced.
Is DAT One worth the cost?
For an active operator running open broker freight, the rate data usually pays for itself on one renegotiated load. At 30 loads a month Pro works out to about $5 a load. If you're running fewer than 10 loads a month, start on Standard.
How do I get the 10% discount?
Sign up through our DAT partner link. The discount applies to your first 12 months on active accounts in good standing.
Does DAT include broker credit information?
Yes — company reviews and credit scores are part of the network. DAT Assurance payment support, where their team helps chase past-due freight payments, is included on Pro and above.
Is the mobile app included?
Yes, on every plan at every tier, at no extra cost.
What about broker plans?
Priced separately: Express $159, Select Broker $319, Office Broker $449. If you're a carrier looking for freight, you want the carrier plans above, not these.
